What do you mean by computer id? If you are looking for the mac address or the volume identification you can study this thread where Al S has contributed very useful pieces of code to do retrieve these informations.

what  I mean is under CVI environment , I want to get  the serial number of any one of my computer's hardware, such as HD ,CPU and so on, that can identify my computer!
