Does LabWindows CVI work under Windosw XP embedded?

Hello,

i found a statement in the forum (01-16-2006 from Wendy L) that CVI work
under XP Embedded. But in the specifications of the actual Version (8.5)
only Windows Vista, XP and 2000 is mentioned, an i can't find an official
statement that i can use cvi with XP Embedded. I need to know this because i
have a request of a customer, who use a IPC with Windows XP Embedded. I have
to certify that my exe runs on XPE. Is there an official statement by
National that CVI runs under XP Embedded?

Hi,

does anybody have any experience with CVI under XP embedded, does it work
also with CF-Card instead of a hard disk ?

Some of our systems use CVI 7.0 in a XP Embedded environment, with no known issues. No reason it should not be happy with a flash disc based system - this is down to the OS, not an application.

OK, thank you JR,

i'm just wondering why CVI is not official approved to use with XP embedded,
at least the standard libraries of cvi......
It's just an unpleasent if i have to state to our customer that my program
might run under his OS :o(

Hi,

CVI works well on XP embedded. Having said that, you can not tell the user of XP Embedded that your application will run.  XP Embedded is using XP components to build an XP Embedded image that fit the requirements for a specific device.  The components selected are not known to you. CVI may require components that are not included in the specific XP Embedded image. It is up to the XP Embedded image creator to implement the required components to allow your application to run using CVI runtime engine.
