Is there any way to enable CVI 5.5 so that the Media options available during the Distribution Kit selection permits files to be built that are larger than 1.44 MBytes? I ask because I have several digital photos included in my project, thus the project size is much larger than a single floppy, and I would rather use my CD-R/W drive.
Unfortunately, no. However, with CVI 6.0 we have an all new distribute kit based on Microsoft's latest MSI installer technology. It fixes this problem along with many other things that were outdated characteristics of the older installer technology we were using previously. You can upgrade here.
Chris: Thanks for the response. I kind of assumed that would be the case. Due to my development, I will end up living with the multiple floppy solution.
Surely the only problem is the 1.4 Mb size limit. The directory isn't constricted to drive a: I've always created disties in a separate sub-directory. Then just copy the subdir to a CD. In this day and age the target is usually on a network anyway, avoiding intermediate stages.
