Directory selection dialog missing the 'Done' button

Hello EvanP,

The done button is still missing here...
I also tried to suprress all folders in KEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\National Instruments\CVI, log out, log in, launch CVI, without success.
But comparing the values of my old 8.5 directory with the new one, the only differences are last used files, last search values, various control positions...

Bruno,

My apologies for being out of touch on this thread!

Is this missing done button still an issue?

If so, please let me know and perhaps we can take this issue off-line and move forward a bit more aggressively towards a solution.

Thanks,

Hello EvanP,

Yes, the Done button is still missing.
BUT
I've created a new administrator account (I also have an administrator account), and the Done button is present when logged in with this new account. I've tried to compare the registry entries for both accounts, to copy the new one and paste it in place of my old one, but without success.

I've just received this morning the 8.5.1 edition. I will uninstall all National Instruments products present on my computer and install this new version. Hope this will help...

Hi Bruno,

Please let us know how the uninstallation process goes.  If that doesn't correct the issue, would we be able to contact you offline to further troubleshoot the issue?  Thanks!

Hello Matt and Evan,

To make it short: the 'Done' button is still missing.

What I did:
  • Uninstall of all National Instruments softwares present on my computer,
  • Reboot,
  • Suppression of all registry entries containing (in a key, subkey...) "National",
  • Reboot,
  • Installation of LabWindows/CVI 8.5.1 FDS (all "LabWindows/CVI 8.5 FDS Package", no "Tools", the run-time engine, some "Device Drivers" (NIDAQmx, NI-488 2.2.5, NI-VISA 4.3, NI LabVIEW Signal Express 2.5.1 and MAX 4.4.1))
  • Reboot when prompted (if any, I can't remember...)

Hello,

I am also seeing this situation.  My tester has a machine that he cannot see the "Done" button with using software I built that calls DirSelectPopup.  He has another laptop that sees it fine, and It shows up fine on my machine.

Has anyone resolved this issue?

Thanks,

Judy

Hello Judy,

The issue that was reported here as causing problems for some computers has been fixed with the release of CVI 9.0.   However, upon fixing the bug, a less serious but slightly more visible bug was introduced.  If you are using CVI 9.0 and are unable to see the 'Done' button, you may just need to size the directory select popup to it's smallest width, and the button should then be there.  This issue should be resolved in the maintenance release for CVI 9.0.

Sorry for the inconvenience,

NickB
