windows serial number

Hello,

I am trying to figure out a copy protection scheme for an executable built in LabVIEW.

Our current stratagey is to get the Windows serial number and ask the user to enter an activation code.  The actiavation code would be some algorithim that would be a function of the serial number.

My first question is how do I get the Windows serial number in LabVIEW?

Are there other copy protection stradgies that anybody could recomend?

Sorry. I think you have to go here first and make a request to join the NI Week 2010 community. It basically describes how you can use a technique similar to the license manager for LabVIEW.
