while and timed loops

I am wondering about running a few timed loops and a couple while loops in the block diagram.  There are communications going on in the timed loops and I am putting some data acquisition in a while loop.  That is when someone comes up to me and says that if you use timed loops all the loops have to be timed loops. 

I am calling BS, but I can't find anything about mixing loops.  Of cours the program runs fine as far as I can tell.  So I figured I would ask the masses and see what they have to say.
