web server active?

Is there a way to determine if a web server is running? I am using the server
with the internet toolkit, it says to make sure the user isn't running any
other servers (i.e. the one that comes with front page), I would like to
do this programatically if possible.

Just try to establish a connection on port 80 of desired host. If server
is running, you'll be able to connect.
For LabVIEW local HTTP server, there is a vi in the intermnet toolkit
named "HTTP Server Control vi"
