using a<x<b in formula node

Hi, I am trying to use the following code snipped in formula node:

 z=(x-2.5)*50;
if (z>-10.0||z< 10.0) {
y = 0;
c=0;}
else {
y = 5*x-12.5;
c=1;}

x is input (from cRIO) and z, y, c are outputs .

It doesn't seems to work properly, y, c are always 0.

How else can I use compound evaluation: -10<z<10 ????

replace || with &&
