unload front panel

Hi all,

May I know how can I unload (not only hide it but unload from memory) a subvi's front panel? Let's say I have a main vi, and the subvi is shown when the button is pressed from the main vi.. Then how can I unload the subvi when the button is pressed from the subvi? And most importantly how I can pass the value from the subvi into main vi? An example for this will be highly appreciated.. THANKS!!

You can right click the sub vi icon in the main vi and chose Subvi node setup. Select Show Front Panel When called and Close After wards if originally closed.

To pass a value from a sub vi to the main vi, you need to have an indicator in the sub vi for the value you want to pass. Then right click the front panel's icon and chose Show Connector. Connect the indicator to one of the connectors. Afterwads, you may need to re-link the subvi in the main program before you can run it.

Hope these solutions help.
