time/date string

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello,

I would like recover informations about the last utilisation (date and hour) of one user but I don't know how.

In my program the user enters the name of the person they are looking for. The person sought may be used multiple times within a day or even in the year software Labtech or Adam. I would like to recover the date and time of last use of the program for the person sought.

I try with the "format date/ Time string" but it returns me the same date of my tests.

Would you have an example

Thanks

Do you have a working or semi-working vi you could attach? Or are you asking for ideas?  You could save the last usage to a .cfg or .ini file using the Config File VIs.  Then when requested, you can read the last used data.  What type of program structure are you using?

I think this will give you waht you are looking for. You may have to reformat the date but I think this is what you asked for.

no it is not good because if I enter the name of the user calling "sarah" I get the date of 02/31/2012 or she uses the software for the last time on 11/09/2012

Explain further what the problem is.  Are these dates coming from your text file?  You may have to modify the bd of aeastet's VI slightly to get it to do what you want.

In fact, I would like to recover the date of last use of the software for different users (the latter did not necessarily use the software at the same time) which are in the file.

Depending on a user enters, it should display its last date of use.
For example the user "sarah", I would show that the last time she used the software was on 11/09/2012.
Similarly if I enter the name "try30" I would like to see 02/31/2012.

Create a login VI so you can track who is using the software and when.  Log these users to a log file upon exit.

I mean, from your last post, I assumed the problem you were describing was from aeastet's VI.  He did say you would have to modify the date format (which is not your problem), but these dates are coming from somewhere.  The file?  I don't know.  I can't run it since I don't have LV11.
