structure for main page

Base on my understanding, the structure of a vi is first drag the while loop. Then inside the while loop put the event structure for all the button fuction. Please gv some opinion.
Question 2 is why some subvi will be displayed when running and some will not be displayed.

You can create a while loop around any structure on your diagram whenever you like. Just drag the loop around the items when you create it - same goes for for loop, case, etc. If you right click on the sub-vi icon you can select "sub-vi node setup" This has an option to "show front panel when called"

Hi,
1. The structure you described is called "state machine" and usually used in event driven applications. It is helpful when you need to process different events from instruments and users or when you need to pass your VI through a number of states. But actually there is a great number of VIs which doesn't use this structure and are built in sequential manner. Everything depends on your purposes.

2.This depends on the option "Open front pannel when called". See help for details.

Good luck.

Oleg Chutko.
