single sample in loop

Can someone help me setup a task to read a single sample from my daq? I don't know what im doing wrong. i started with a simple read from an example, that didnt work, so it got more and more confusing. now i have so many components, it cant be this difficult. I guess i just dont understand the convoluted setup of the daq! frustrated...
