Continuing with the shared variables, I am surching for a solution when the "client" for the shared variables don't know the name and/or IP of the host providing these variables.

I'm developing the VIs on one PC but install the exe file on an independant network.

I thought the alias was the solution but the alias seems to be only a name for an other shared variable.

So, is it possible to have a name for a shared variable regardless the host wich is providing it ?
