setup installation fail

Hi,

I am new to LabVIEW. I have some issues regarding installation.

. I have to install LabVIEW2012 (64 bit) on Windows 8.

. After downloading and running the setup, I did not find any icon or something that i need to start the tool.

What is this issue, kindly guide me.

Is there a C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 12 folder?

If not, it didn't install.

Did the installer process process as expected? E.g. you should get options of packages to install.

Did you run the installer as admin? This means Run as Administrator, not run as a user with admin rights? It's not the same.

Did you install from a USB stick or network? Best to copy the installer to a local disk.

BTW I hope that Window 8 OS is 64 bit. If not I do expect an error, but there's certainly no change it will ever install.

You need at least LabVIEW 2012 SP1 to be supported on windows 8. (details)

Are you absolutely sure that your windows 8 is 64bit?

(Is there a reason you are not trying to use LabVIEW 32bit? probably a better idea overall. How much RAM do you have?)
