screen resolution executables

Hey fellas,

What the heck is up with Labview executables and screen resolution?? I build an .exe on my desktop with 1280X1024 and make the front panel a max size of 800X600. Set the VI props to be centered and then build. Put the .exe on an 800x600 machine and WHAM! The thing is all messed up with buttons everywhere overlapping and misconfigured, screen is tiny and not 800x600.

Another trial - set vi props for 800x600 max size and "MAXIMIZED". Now build executable and run on 800x600 machine. VI fills whole screen but the damn buttons and front panel objects are way off the screen and unuseable. What gives??

Is there some method for making front panels that will look right on multiple screen resolutions when run in .exe??

Jeremy

I struggled with this too and ended up buying a monitor that was the same size and resolution as the monitors we deploy on, I found this to be easier.  I would love to hear a better solution though.

Under the VI's properties in the Window Size Category, do you have either of the 2 options checked?  If so, this may be a big source of your problems.  I have never had much luck with these options, as the algorithm is just not good/"smart" enough.

Also the font size problem, my cause you some grief and pain.

Take a look at this for font size problem  http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&thread.id=384019&view=by_date_ascending&page=1

Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted
(Sorry no Labview "brag list" so far)
