sbRIO 9607

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I am using sbrio 9607. I connect NI 9234 module to sbrio through NI 9697 RMC board which has two slots. The problem is I need only one slot and second slot increases the size and volume.

1)Is there a single slot version of NI 9697?

2) Is there an alternative way to connect NI 9234 to sbrio?

Thanks in advance,

Engin

No, the following link shows the available RMCs and there is only the 2 slot C-Series option

Not realistically.  If you can tell us more about what you are trying to do though we may be able to suggest an alternative.  If you haven't already I would also suggest contacting your sales representative, they are very helpful when it comes to picking out the appropriate hardware.

Hi Matt,

Is it possible to use a RMC Connector

and single out the appropriate  pins to connect them through a15-pin  D-SUB connector to the NI 9234?

Thanks

Engin

Turns out my previous statement was somewhat incorrect (should have read the documentation more closely).

We do not have an RMC that will let you use only one C-Series module but you are able to create your own RMC that would only have one C-Series module connection.  The link below explains how you can make this connection.  The important caveat is that you will not be able to use the pins previously used for the second module for other tasks because it is a fixed behavior signal.  If you wanted to save space it can be done but if  you wanted more DIO connections it cannot be done.

I hope that sums up the options available.
