reset the ports before running the program

I found out an interesting thing. My machine goes sleep after a while. When I wake up the machine, and run the VI to measure temperature(my first program :]), the program does not recognize the DAQ device. I am using LabView 7 and Ni-DAQ 7.2. I think when I wake up the machine, the port from the DAQ pad to the computer is not ready to function somehow.

But if you have a similar problem, or know what to do to fix this error so that I do not need to force quit or restart the machine, please let me know.

Hello mikeee,

Thank you for contacting National Instruments. Sleep/suspend mode is known to cause problems with PCI and PCMCIA DAQ devices for both Windows and MacOS. Take a look at the following page located on our website:

My PCI Board or PCMCIA Card Does Not Respond after My Computer Recovers from Suspend or Sleep Mode

It is suggested that you disable sleep/suspend mode for your system to prevent this problem. If you have any further questions on this issue, let me know.
