remove decorations from control

Hi All!
Can anyone advise me how I can remove some decoration from LV control? 3D border around string/number indicator, for example.

THX.

You can customize controls as described in the application note which can be found in Help>>Search the LabVIEW Bookshelf, but the easiest thing, in this case, would be to use an indicator from the classic controls palette, which do not have the 3D border, and whose border you can make transparent.

Just as a side note, you *can* make the 3D border transparent, though the method to do so is a little obscure.

Set a control on the front panel, switch to the paint brush tool, and right click on the border to bring up the color dialog.  Press spacebar to switch to the background color, and select transparent.

This isn't my method, btw, I'm just repeating what others have posted.  I believe I first saw this posted from a NI dev, though I don't recall which one.

Thanks, Underflow, I was certain that you could only do it for the boolean LEDs, which have the decal option in the context menu or customize for the other controls.
