remote desk connection

The test station where I am developing my code has two monitors, very useful for developing LabVIEW.  Sometimes I log in remotely from home but then I can only see one monitor view.  Sometimes I accidentally leave VIs, or worse, the tool box, open on the second monitor and then it is impossible to access them from home, very annoying.  Is there any way to force LabVIEW to move these forms to my main screen from home?

Ugh, I haven't figured that one out, either.  I hope someone has a solution!

Can you access the Windows TaskBar and Cascade Windows? This should pull all windows to the primary display.

I can recommend a program called 'DisplayFusion' - it's a multi-monitor taskbar for Win 7/8 etc. that gives you a full taskbar on both monitors, allows you have windows appear on the appropriate taskbar, have different wallpapers for each monitor etc. etc.

It's a very handy program if you have multiple monitors and well worth the license cost (I use it at home and at work and couldn't do without it on multi-monitor setups).

Particularly for your specific problem - It's very configurable and allows you to create a whole load of keyboard shortcuts for things like:

- Move all windows to current monitor

- Move window to current monitor

- Move to next/primary/previous monitor

etc.

Or right-click the window in the task bar and select "Move", then use the arrow keys to move the window.

This does not work for any of the palettes.

I like the move and cascade options, but, as you say, none of the above works for the tool box.

You can always open a "temporary" tools palette by shift-right-clicking the diagram. Of course not an ideal solution if you need it frequently.

I've found some times a window can be selected, which is on a monitor that doesn't exist, and by pressing Windows+Shift+Right it will move the window to the next monitor, because that monitor doesn't exist it will move it to my main monitor.

Another option might be to write a tool that resaves all VIs on the main monitor, but honestly this should be considered a bug and fixed.
