real time module

Hi,

I need to use the labview real time module on a desktop PC. I wonder if
I should go for the LabVIEW Real-Time Module (ETS) for Windows that
requieres two PCs (client-server configuration) or for the RTX module
that uses a single PC (and is a little less expensive). On top of the
money issue, I wonder which solution is faster and more reliable. Any
advice is very welcome !!!

Hi John,

Concerning speed and reliabilty there is no (big) difference. The main difference is the supported HW. ETS supports much more I/O Modules then RTX. I recommend you to read this tutorial: Selecting Your LabVIEW Real-Time Deployment Platform.
Look especially at TABLE 3 which shows what kind of HW is supported under RTX and ETS.
