Hi everyone...
I have just started working on LabVIEW and I’m facing some issue..I have a .csv file containing 3 columns of readings. The total number of data points in each column is 125000.The data of my interest lies between reading numbers 50000 to 80000 of each column .if I try to read the entire .csv file using read from spreadsheet VI i get an error message saying memory is full, not enough memory to complete this operation. I know that you can extract a column or row and the number of readings you require after you read from the spreadsheet, using index arrays. Is it possible to select the column with the number of data points one wants at the initial stage itself, that is in the read from spreadsheet VI? If no is there any other method to solve this problem.
Thanks

Dear Iki belle,
thank you so much for your post on our webforum.
You are reading byte for byte with the basic file I/O functions. So it is impossible to select a row and colum. You are able to start at a point in a file and read a number of bytes from that point. Please notice readcsv.vi for a demonstration of this.
What you want is included with the report generation toolkit; here you are able to create an excel sheet from your file and select a begin and end row / colum. I made an example; getcolumrow.vi, a picture is also included from this example. Please notice that you need the report generation toolkit for this.

Dear Anne,
In most cases all software is delivered on our DVD's. So you are able to install the report generation toolkit, but only as a trial (if it isn't included in your labview license).

Hi -
Is there any chance of posting this in v8.5? I think this will solve a week long challenge for me.
Many thanks!
