read tinytalk logger with labview

hi,

has anyone ever tried to read a gemini tinytalk datalogger with labview?
Or does someone have information about the protokoll (RS232 1200bd? 7n2??)

I wonder what you intend to use Labview for as the logger is a standalone device.

I could not locate a protocol document.
Anyway you can work back through the protocol information by looking at the example code on the Gemini web site.

http://www.geminidataloggers.com/

You need to follow the link to developer information
http://www.geminidataloggers.com/developer

There does not appear to be specific Labview support although I looked through the code and it looks reasonably straight forward to port, if a little tedious.

You are right, it's a standalone application. However sometimes I need to merge the tinytalk data with data from my Labview application(s). Since it's (simple) RS232 I like the idea to do everything in G. I don't really like to analyse line code 🙂 and haven't found a protokoll description.

Looks like I need to request a licence and start to learn Python 😕

Perhaps what you should do in the first instance is export the tinytalk data to a text file using the support application.

Then merge the data in Lbaview.

Did you ever progress this project into LabVIEW code?
If you did would you consider sharing it?

I was just reading through old posts and this was one that caugt my eye again.
