Hi Gaanja,

Thanks for the post and I hope your well today.

There is an excellent article on using the Parallel Port in LabVIEW. I have placed the link below,

Using the Parallel Port in LabVIEW

http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/B937AC4D8664E37886257206000551CB

Since LabVIEW 7.0 the above mentioned VIs are includes, and there are two examples -  'Parallel Port Additional Data Register Inputs.VI' and 'Parallel Port Read and Write Loop.vi'.  Have you used / tried these before?

Hope this helps,

Kind Regards

The link you got from Hillman is useless because all the pictures have the wrong link. So they do not show up . This is a link to a pdf doc with pictures

http://www.physics.utah.edu/~jui/3620-6620/labs/Using_the_Parallel_Port_in_LabVIEW.pdf

@Hillman

I see this to often. And in this case the pictures are very important. How can we report missing pictures. I this case I reported the missing pictures long time ago, but still no reaction

Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted

Hi Coq,

Thanks for the post.

What images/pictures are you refering to? From within the pdf document all the images include diagram/the connection table and labview code appear in the link.

Any applications engineer can update the online content, and I will if you could please explain some more... this is what I see..attachted below.

If you have any other feedback to improve the knowledgebase article then I'd be more than happy to consider it and update the article.

Thanks again,

Perhaps because you are in the "NI" family. The pictures are visible to you. For then I am using the link is this i can not see pictures. And this is not the only placeon www.ni.com I have seen it. I send both a screen shot and a Adobe pdf "site rip"

James,

This happens all of the time. The properties of the pictures indicate that they are located at http://ae.natinst.com. The ae site is not accessible to us mere mortals only NI application engineering personnel.

Yes that is correct. This was reported by Adobe. But you are correct Hillman, in the fact that the parallel port article is excellent

I've seen this more often than not in KB articles.

Any reason someone at NI can't work through the website of articles and update the links?

I don't know how many articles would need updating, so it could be a large project.  But that is the kind of work to give to a young engineer or budding co-op student/intern.Smiley Wink

Oh, and smack the wrist of any NI application engineer who continues to create any new articles with a "super-secret" weblink, or posts such a link in the forums.Smiley Mad

And while they are at it, the budding co-op student/intern can go through and update all of the 5.1 example programs that keep getting posted to the board, asking for someone to convert them.
