old / new style Controls

I've changed some months ago from Labview 5 to 6.1.
So far so good.
When I add a control to the user interface (Panel) it is in the modern style (some web touch, isn't
it?).
When I add a control to the diagram I still get the old style controls everybody was used to for
the lasr decades.

Where can I adjust what is the default control syle, so I get either only new or only old style.
The mixture of both styles is really bas taste!

Thanks for any help

If only old style controls are in use on the front panel, new ones created from the diagramme will be old style as well...however if there is a new style control already on the panel, new controls will be of the new style...

Personally I think the old style is the only professional looking option of the two, it seems strange that NI chose to make their "X-files" interface the default...Hopefully NI is not planning to gradually phase out the professional interface and force us all to join Mulder and Scully...

A neat feature now that there is a choice though would be to just be able to select a "skin".

I have to add something:

If I use an old (-style) VI as subVI and crate a control/indicator in the drawing - I get the same
contol as in the subVI. Is the 'skin' of the control also copied? So the 'skin' is part of the object?

Both sets of controls are available independently to each other. They are not simply different "Skins" which are applied to the same object. They are different objects (Even if the ony difference between them IS the appearance).

If you copy a terminal from an old-style control from the block diagram, the control is copied (If you copy an old control, you create another old-style control and vise versa). It IS awkward though when you want to continue work on an old VI and suddenly have a terrible mix of old and new controls on the FP. At least the old controls are available via a sub-palette.

Would it be possible for NI to provide an option "Convert all to new" so that at least the styles within a VI can be unified?
