I agree that your points are valid. At the risk of starting a new topic ontop of an old post, I'd like to mention just a couple of other points

1. I can see that HH's would be frustrating and weeding them out from the others could be difficult.

2. I suspect that most of the LV gurus who always have the right answers for the postings are engineers who are sitting at a pc doing LV programming all day as part of their workload. In this instance it would not take long to get to know all the little tricks and tips of LV programming.

3. However, having said that, "most" of the posters are doing this only as a one off for a particular project they are working on, or, as in my instance, an occassional "user". It can take a long time (again in my case) to keep up with the changes and improvements in LV, and so, resort to asking the experienced users like yourself. We don't expect to be pilloried for seeming to be a little "thick" at times.

4. Bottom line....we are all engineers, and should expect to be treated with dignity and respect on the forum.

5. If some of the regular gurus on the forum are becoming increasinlgy frustrated with some of the queries here, then perhaps it's time to walk away for a period. Remember the old adage....there are no stupid questions.....only stupid answers.

6. This forum in my opinion is a goldmine of LV answers, tips and yes even, solved solutions to others problems, and it would be a shame to see it lose members.

One other thought in passing.....sad to say...but true non-the-less....that one day the current members will become dinosaurs and the baton must be passed to the up and coming crop of programmers, so we need to go easy on them and give them a little patience or we run the risk of scaring them from this forum, never to return and the result will be loss of accumulated experience for the "newbies" (always hated that word)

Sorry to ramble

Regards

Ray

That is always the challenge of the altruist since walking away deprive the forum of that cache of knowlege.

As for us becoming dinousaurs... I am doing my best to leave dropping eveywhere I can.

Take care,

Ben
