modulated pulse with a serial port

Is there anyone that has had any luck creating a modulated pulse with a rs232 port or the paralell port?

Could you be a little more specific re:what you are trying to do?

Almost all RS-232 communications involves modulating pulses, so any one who has done anything with RS-232 could answer YES to this question.

Please describe all aspects of the signal you are after and I am sure that one of us can be of help.
