max can't find gpib instrument

I just installed LV 2011 and all necessary drivers and using MAX to ping & find 3 connected GPIB instruments. It finds 2 of them but the third one it says is Agilent N1913A, a power meter, which is NOT connected, but WAS connected long before I installed Labview & Max. It does NOT find the Agilent N5230A PNA connected to the GPIB bus. Any ideas why this is happening?

Have you run a refresh in Max?

May be you have to select 'GPIB' communication option in the instrument itself & also check address may be it clashing with other GPIB complaint instrument.

Try to swap the GPIB cables with the successful connected instrument and this one. Might be cable is faulty.

In which configuration you have connected all gpib instruments.

I found the problem. Refresh doesn't do it. I had to "Scan for Instruments" and it found it ok. Thank you for your help.
