Have you checked out the Matlab Script? It is available from the Mathematics->Formula palette. There are some examples on using it in the examples that ship with LabVIEW. They are in the Communication->Matlab folder.

There are examples of using Matlab in LV. You can take that as a
starting point. I have used them and I like it.
