lv 8.6 Locked (No Password)

LabVIEW 8.6 VI Protection option Locked (No Password) is not being saved.

I also tried saving through Invoke Node, and it didn't work. :smileysad:

Is there any work around?

Thanks,

Yes, looks like you found a bug.

As an alternative, maybe it is sufficient to set the VI to run mode (ctrl+m).

This certainly does look like a bug in 8.6  This was reported to R&D (# 128657) for further investigation.  Unfortunately this is something we may just have to deal with, pending a fix, so take a look at altenbach's suggestion which may suffice as a workaround.

Hi there

I ported from 8.5.1 to 8.6.1. All VIs in the project are password protected. Some of them are opened in Run Mode, some in Edit Mode. The option "Environment->Open VIs in Run Mode" shows no effect, neither FALSE nor TRUE.

<edit>

When i open the BD of a VI that was opened in Run Mode and switch back to the FP the VI is then in Edit mode. This is extremly annoying.

If you press CTRL-M like altenback mentioned, does it go back to run mode?

Yes. The funny thing is: The VI behaves like it's in Run-Mode, e.g. the text settings are invisible etc., but the menu says "Change to Run-Mode" (NOT "Change to Edit Mode"). When i press CTRL-M the VI behaves like in Edit-Mode and the menu still reads "Change to Run-Mode".

Same with CTR-E (like stated above)
Best regards
