Respected Sir/Madam,

We are doing our final year project on labview. We are using DAQ assistant to simulate our project. I would like if there is any possibilty to create a new channel in the "add  channel" list just like pressure is builtin. Is there is any possibilty that we could add a channel named Flow into the driver. Please respond immediately. I guess it is not possible, but I would like to get confirmation. My guide is just torturing me over this. He wants us to include a  airflow measuring instrument just like the pressure bridge used to measure pressure directly.

(Every single post here is about LabVIEW, so to would clearly help of you would use a more descriptive post title!)

Everything is possible, but you need to be a bit more specific. You talk about "simulate". Are you using simulated instruments or real instruments? What do you mean by "driver". Have you used MAX?

Please reply immediately! 😮

we are using simulated device only. We are using MAX and selected a DAQ card and DAQmx for configuring it. What I would like to know is in the the available channels list, we have a pressurebridge for measuring pressure ,strain measurement etc., similarly can I add myself a measurement mode for airflow, like an airflow meter.

Thanks for replying. Please respond

off course you can add a channel to a task.  We do it all the time 😉 .

Take a look at this thread and it might help you out on how to do things.

Kind regards,

We too doit, but what i wouldlike toknow is I want the airflow measurement to be added in the channels list just like pressure. IN the LAbview 2010 software we have various channels like strain measurement in the same manner I want to have an airflow measurement device in that list

but strain measurement is a specific measurement, and needs to be dealt with in a different way.  Airflow measurement is a normal analog input, isn't it?  Which can be a voltage or a current depending on the output of your sensor.

yes i know but my project guide is requesting to have that as a specific measurement in the list. Please tell me can it be done by us or its in the software itself: built in .

Here is a document that helps you step by step.  Look at figure 5.  It shows you how to add a channel by clicking the "+" button.  you can assign a name to the channel and configure it.

If you want to add it to the list shown in figure 4, that can't be done, because it's just a plain voltage or current.  you will have to assign a name in figure 5

Kind regards,
