I have developed a VI which takes data from a hardware through serial port.I have employed stop and wait technique so in one iteration the VI transfers 2 bytes serially to the hardware and recieves 8 bytes.After around 124 iterations the program stops for 3 to 4 seconds and then starts again taking the data.I have tried alot to identify the problem but its there.I am using labview 8.5 professional version and windows Xp.

Do you know for a fact that it's the program that's pausing, as opposed to some other operating system process that's causing it to stop? Like Windows, or perhaps your anti-virus, or something else that you have running?

Is the program always pausing at 124 iterations, or does that number change drastically? What device are you communicating to serially?
