labview modbus

Hi,

I am new to LabView. I have a development PC in which I have labview 8.5 with activated DSC module.

I am wondering if I can generate an application that can be run on another PC and:

• reads (for example) address 409017 of a modbus server with IP=192.168.1.140
• log this data on database
• shows historical data on a chart

How? Whould anyone explain a step-by-step approach?

I should say that I have worked on the project. Here, I want to know if I am on the right road or not.

Are you planning to install LV on that machine?  If not, you'd need to purchase a runtime license for dsc

I want to run the application on another PC that has not LabView installed.

So, how should I do this?

For LabVIEW You can get a Free Run Time Licence or you can Create a Installer from the Developemnet System. But for DSC Module you you need to get a runtime Licence
