Do you have to use asp?  I am not familiar with it, but if you can get away with it, LV 7.1 has built in SMTP email vi's.  When an input value is out of range, you can have it send an email.  I attached a simple example.  Only catch is you need access to an SMTP server.  There is also a vi to send an email with attachments.  I use this to send emails when a test fails at work so important long-term tests don't sit unnoticed over the weekend.  Hope this is helpful.

Unfortunately the advent of corporate spam filters is making if harder and harder to send email. The problem is that there have been dozens of additions to the basic smtp protocol and many systems won't accept messages that they interpret as being "malformed" or with header information that is "incomplete". Rather than continually tweaking lv's smtp drivers to get messages through the hoops that corporate IT departments are contantly erecting, I have started using a free smtp activex component from a company called OstroSoft.

It's easy to use and is dependable. Attached is the VI I wrote to talk to their component. You can download the component itself online (do a search on the company name).

Mike,

You and LV_Pro are everywhere!

That Ostrosoft is pretty neat. I'm going to keep that in my back pocket in case our IT group does shut us down.  They weren't too happy I was making use of the mailserver for our lab, but as of yet it is still "open enough" to use standard SMTP vis.

Thanks

Matt

Hey Dost, You can publish your front panel onto the web (if that is what you mean by run a webpage in LabVIEW). Go to Tools>>Web Publishing Tool and from there you can configure a webpage and you can even take control of the front panel through the web browser (right click and request control). Hope this helps, If you have any further questions give me a shout. Best regards, Peter H. Applications Engineer. NIUK.
