is it possible to cascade SCXI device from a PXI device?

Good afternoon.

We have a PXI 1052 sistem, with a PXI 8106 controler and a PXI 6289. In an upcoming test, we will be needing some extra aquisition channels, for wich we were considering using our older SCXI 1000DC chassis.

Our question is, will it be possible to connect the SCXI device to the PXI controller (through the PXI 6289)?

We have in the past used multiple SCXI chassis, cascading down, but in this case, would like to keep everything controled by our main unit (the PXI 1052 sistem).

We will be using several module types in each chassis, namely 1530, 1531, 1140 and 1121 units, conditioning a wide variety of sensors.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have your exact setup, but I am running SCXI-1000 from PXI-1042 (controller = PXI - 8196) with PXI 6281 MIO card.

Been running 10+ systems like that for years, no problems.

Hey Gonçalo Vitor,

If you're planning on chaining multiple SCXI chassis with the 6289 as only controller, you can check some knowledge base articles just like this one or that one.

Hope it'll help.

Rik.
