icon constants

hi,
I am using Labview 6.1 I downloaded this VI from NI website called Select multiple files.vi or something. It has some constants in it with different icons in them. I was wondering how can I make those things in my own program. I have attached a screen shot of what I am talking about.

Hello Shabu,

The constant you see on that diagram can be obtained from the Numeric >> Additional Numeric Constants subpalette...it is called a "Listbox Symbol Ring Constant". To use your own images, you could create a custom control of a picture ring and then use this as a constant on your block diagram. You can read the on-line help in LabVIEW for more information about custom controls.

Please let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck, and have a nice day.

Shabu,
The constants you are looking for can be found under Numeric/Additional Numeric Constants/Listbox Symbol Ring Constant. Hope this helps. /Mikael

Those are the listbox symbols. You can add those to a listbox by first right clicking the listbox selecting Visible Items and choosing Symbols. Then you highlight a line of text of the listbox, right click and choose Item Symbols. On the diagram, the Listbox Symbol Ring Constant (what's in your screen shot) is found in the Numeric>Additional Numeric Constants palette. You programmatically add them to a listbox by using a property node.
