hysteresis anyone?

Hi,

I have two signals from two sensors, these will be put together to calculate the hysteresis. Is there anyone that can help or tip me of a complete programme or something to work with?

Appreciate all help!

Best regards,

Hello,

i don't know if there is existing function, but can you give us more details because it's not same complexity if :

1) you want to process on existing data ( you acquire an hysteresis cycle  an then analisys) or real time measure (analisys point afer point)

2) is it a physic hysteresis or electronical ? the output is aproximately 2 states ( ex 0-12V) or multiple (like magnetic hysteresis)

do you have a file of samples points to give us an idea of what you want to analyse

hysteresis has a general meaning, it is not a function.

Please give us more details....

Hi,

It is for a system that calculates the hysteresis between the two curves shown in the inserted file, this picture may clear things up. The sensors are: 1 pressure sensor that registers the output voltage, and one magnetic sensor that also registers the output voltage. I would like to display the difference between the upper line and the lower line. '

At the moment i have solved this issue by printing out 500 samples from the magnetic and the pressure soutput voltage into a .xls file that displays the difference (hysteresis curve). Is there a better way to solve this?

I hope this information solves our problem?

Best regards

S

I suppose you can say that it is electronical because its the output voltage that im interested in. I can give you an .xls file tomorrow to show you how this looks like.

Once again, appreciate all help I can get.

Best regards

S

I forgot to say, I have an DAQ unit that interprets the signals from the sensors. Maybe not so important for you to know?? 🙂 I'm an LabVIEW amateure. Thanks,

Best regards.

Hello,

It s just a details but x and y aren't inverted , it isn't stroke that depend of pressure ?

i take a look on what could be done...

I hope this information solves our problem? Smiley Happy

Hi,

the stroke is of course dependent on the pressure.

Is there any more questions please let me know. Appreciate everything...

hello,

here a very basic vi to measure hysteresis, it works only on clean outing signal because of simple detection (trigger function)
if not, try to filter or better to average signal

A details: your hysteresis seems to be slightly different at low and high level , here measure is taked at middle scale...
you can change this by modifying "analyse point"
