how to wire a string to 1D array with three elements.

Hi all...

i would like to wire the output of a File.dat to a 1D array global variable with three elements (which consist of a string and two numeric values).

I have attached here my vi for demonstration.
Please help.

I have read reviews from many Labview books on the internet but have yet to decide which one to buy.

No I never left. I don't know what comment in my profile you're refering to. Please don't confuse me with LabVIEWGuru - who did leave for the info-labview mail server. Unfortunately, I really can't recomend a good beginners LabVIEW book. I've never purchased one. I did buy Gary Johnson's books and found them excellent but they're more intermediate to advanced. I know Jeffrey Travis has a beginner's book (LabVIEW for Beginners). I have his Internet Applications book and think it's excellent - www.jeffreytravis.com.
