how to read AC drives via 485 modbus?

Hi all,

I want to take all available data from ABB's AC drive via 485 to LabVIEW? I am a beginner to automation. Please guide me.  The manual for ACS550 drive does not specify any register addresses.

I tend toward using modbus for that type in connection BUT I do expect teh manufatuer to provide the addresses and the data types of all served registers.

I'd go back to ABB and get the comm specs.
