A better option is to password protect the VI.

What are you trying to hide?  Unless you are using some proprietary patented algorithms, it is usually more beneficial to have the diagram visible. This way others can find bugs and improve it. 😄

To save VIs without diagram, you can create a source distribution with special option. It is all explained here.

Are you trying to distribute a program? In this case you can build it into a standalone executable that does not need LabVIEW installed.

Once you removed block diagram you cant recovered it back so take a backup before doing this.

One more thing instead of deleting the VI why cant you use password protection?

This better then deleting.

If you have difficulties in following the link then here it is.

Make sure of these and remember

1. You can no longer make any editing changes or view the block diagram.

2. You cannot open or run the VI on any other version of LabVIEW, older or newer.

3.You cannot open or run the VI on any other OS.

One more thing, once it deleted then you will never able to recover it back so I sugges you to take a backup.

Thanks

  1. Make a backup
  2. Open the Block Diagram
  3. Press Ctrl-A to select everything
  4. Press Delete
  5. Curse the internet pranksters
