How would one convert

0001101001001111 in string format to 1A4Fh


thats for any help in the right direction

Use the function Scan Value (found in Functions - String - String/Number Conversions). Wire the binary string into the string input. Wire "%b" into the format string input. Wire the output to the Number To Hexidecimal String function found in the same palette. The output of that can be wired to a string indicator. Or the numerical output of the first function can be wired to a numeric indicator with the Format & Precision set to hexidecimal.
