how to change the index(appearance) of the array

Switch to Customize mode

Right click and choose edit items.

I hope that is what you are asking.

Here the index value in array is menu ring but usually the index value will be numeric....

how they do the change from numeric value to ring...

See this thread where I shared the technique for customizing the index control look.

BTW: The last time tried it, once you replace the index with a slider , you can't change it any more. NI knows about that bug and it is scheduled to be fixed (someday).
