hidden highlight execution

I doing maintenance on software written by others.  Some of the things that they did was hide the run, run continuous, and stop buttons.  When I unhide them, through vi properties, most of the lower level vi's will also have the highlight execution button appear.  But on the top level, and some lower level vi's, the highlight execution button stays hidden.  Where can I find it?  I would like to trace what is going on, but have a hard time, knowing where it goes.  I would appreciate any help that is available.

Brian,

It sounds like someone disabled debugging.  You can change this by going to VI Properties>Execution and selecting the Allow Debugging option.

I thought that I had done that, but obviously not for that particular vi.
