Is there a way in Labview to generate keystrokes in labview 8?

I found an example but its too old for labview 8.5 to open.

What does the copy text vi do?

The "copy text"-VI simulates Ctrl-C. It copies the text to the clipboard, so you can paste it then with Ctrl-V in any other application.
