font display hex normal

Hi

I just don´t understand, why does Courier new font so strange things. If I display a string in hex, then it is good. If I change the view to Normal (so ASCII), then after each word, LV makes a line feed. Why? There are no line feed characters in my string, and with all the other fonts it displays a continuous string. Well, it is strange to me.
Look at the two display modes.

Hi Gyula,
which LV- Version do you use? Which OS?
I made a little VI which does the same like your VI. If it works, your string- indicator could be broken.

Hi

I use LabVIEW 7.0. The strange is that if I choose another font, it works. Only Courier new not. And I need that, what else? 🙂

What happens, when you make a new VI, place a new String-indicator and change programmatically the display-style. You understand, just doing the same with a new indicator. Sometimes it happened to me, that a control or indicator broke somehow and I only could fix it by placing a new one from the palette and made all the customizations again.

Hi Dave,

I have just tried it, but no change. I didn´t make new vi, just deleted the original string indicator and created a new one. The same happens.

And what, if you do something like this?

Hi Dave,

I do exactly the same. I made a backup solution (from software side very ugly): when I change from hex to normal display, I change the font name too, from Courier new to Arial. But it is nevermind.

I am afraid, this sounds like you have to reinstall LabView. If this happens with the other string indicator types too (the classic and the dialog and the 3D- palette) it seems to be something very deep in your LV- system.
