filtering noise from wave file

I have voice wave file that I would like to filter out the noise and amplify the speaker voice.  basically I want it to be a better quality.
If anyone can give suggestion of what type of filtering should I use and its cutoff frequencies, will be great.
thank you for your time

hi there

the choice of the filter depends not only on the signal but also on the noise. i suggest to use the express-VI

Express -> Signall Analysis->Filter

to quickly set up a filter and play around a bit to find the best settings. as a start you could use a Bandpass-filter with a lower frequency of 100 Hz and a upper frequency of 20.000 HZ (about the range of the human ear, see attachment), or search in your data for pure noise (when noone is speaking) and make a spectral analysis of the noise to learn more about the filters settings.
