How do I go about creating a file, setting a default file name and not allowing the user to change it?

Hi b_lee:

Use a path constant, in the case you don't want to change the location of the file. It's located under the File I/O palette under File Constants. Just write down in the path constant the path and the name of the file and you're done.

I put the path constant but it still prompts me for a file name.

You should probably describe your application in a bit more detail (what subVIs you are using, e.g.) or perhaps post a simple VI demonstrating the problem if you need more help.
