error 66

Guys,
I am just the IT guy and have no idea about NI LV. But lately we are having problem with LV 7.1 showing error messages. Most common is "Error 66". I looked up the forums and found nothing helpful. As I said, I am not the LV guy so if you can explain me the problem and provife me the soultion. I appreciate it.

Scenario:
Client server based connection. (1server and multiple clients) All running WinXP SP2 with Firewall On and exceptions to the concern experiment and ports(read/write) enabled.
All of them are running static IP's and clients talk to server with IP address. (All same domain).
Server and client machines:
All of them are 2.8 ghz, 512mb, 80gb 100mbps nic, static IPs.

Steps replicating the problem:
1. Server is started and listening.
2. Clients are started and as soon as it starts it throws the error 66 messages while reading/writing. (Initial contact with the server is good and successful ; but gets error message 66 in just a second).
3. Sometimes, I have success if I close the application and restart it. BUt this is rearly (1/10 times or so).

So please help....

Error 66 means, that the network connection was closed by the peer.

Has this Server/Client combination ever worked properly?
Then it might be related e.g. to the read/write timeouts in the server application and the way the server application handles timeouts. If sounds as if the server closes a connection on a timeout.

Sorry for me not having a better advice. I hope, you have access to the developer of this software package?
