how to aquirir data from dsp

I'm an engeneer and i want to aquirir data from my DSP how could i do it?.
can? code composer? serial?
i`m working with a generator sincrono, i want to have control over the generator. (on, off, change parameter, show variables(like voltage in terminals), etc)
