Your solution is very clever and insightful, elegant even.  I would have suggested an array or table indicator...

Hello,

I cannot see the solution. Would you post the solution once again?

Thank you

There was no solution.

Jim was being sarcastic because the original poster decided to mark his message as a solution where he failed to provide any additional information that would allow anyone to help him.

The person hasn't been online since not long after posting that message.  My guess they are one of those quick hitters who come in ask a question, aren't capable of providing any information that could allow us to help them help themselves, and they fly away never to be heard from again.

Ha ha!

indeed, i understand, now.

Coming to the question of converting, I wanted to convert a spreadsheet string (2d) to matrix. I could do this by spreadsheet string to Array.vi

Regards
