is there a vi that discovers cRIOs similar to the way MAX can find a cRIO across different networks?

I know that when you install LVRT, you get a VI in one of the RT palettes to list the MAC addresses of units in your subnet. I believe it was either in the advanced or utilities subpalette.

Note - this was FieldPoint and LabVIEW 7.0. It might be different for you.

Thanks for the info.  I got to looking at the RT Ping Controllers.vi  I was under the impression that you needed to know the IP address in order to ping the controller but this VI discovers all devices on the local subnet.

One thing that is strange is that it states that it works only for the local subnet but it finds devices on other subnets also.  In my case this is desirable but there may be a case when you really only want devices on one paticular subnet
